Driver the Ati becomes Catalyst 7.11
New version of the driver ati various also in the name, from 8.42 to Catalyst 7,11, nearly to wanting to recall the versions for windows.

Recorded: “we only hope that they are better of the versions microsoft”, even if to onor of the true one from when Ati has been acquired from Amd a decided radical change of direction is seen. However this wants to be a simple one “how to install” for this new version:
- Removal old driver - if they have been installed with the method easy enough to go from shell and with the privileges of root on /usr/share/ati and typing sh ./fglrx-uninstall.sh; various executed these instructions: I sudo apt-get remove fglrx-amdcccle fglrx-kernel-$ (uname - r) fglrx-kernel-source xorg-driver-fglrx - I sudo rm /usr/src/fglrx.tar.bz2 - I sudo rm - R /usr/src/modules - I sudo rm /usr/src/fglrx-kernel *.deb
- Installation new - Download of the driver from here and installation with the easy method; on Gutsy to me it is spun all smooth like the oil: from shell sh ./ati-driver-installer-7-11-x86.x86_64.run
Innovation: The support to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4,6 and 5,1, Ubuntu 7.10. RedFlag 6,0 DT, OpenSuse the 10,3 and finally full support to kernel the 2.6.23.
