Google Maps replaces the GPS?
Google has developed to a new feature called My Location that serves to simulate a system GPS on a mobile phone or on a palm one that is not equipped of hardware gps. In short My Location takes the information from the towers of mobile telephony in order to approximate the position of the device (the cellular one) on the map of the city.
In so far as, not having the gps, the approximation degree is slightly advanced, but, guarantees Google, however medium under i 1000 m. My Location is available for the majority of telephones cellular qualified to navigation web, included dispositive Java, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Nokia/Symbian, not still compatible with iPhone, even if Apple seems is being given to make in such sense. There is from saying that the service is still in phase beta, but the characteristics seem to say little interesting.
