Kde4 rc2 on Kubuntu.

Here like installing Kde4 rc2 on Kubuntu 7.10:

  • To remove the packages of kde4 precedence because not compatible, to open they finishes and typing I sudo apt-get remove kdelibs5 kde4base-giving kde4libs-giving;
  • To open the source list with I sudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list and to add
    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu gutsy main;
  • A beautiful one I sudo apt-get update;
  • Now the installation, I sudo apt-get install kdebase-workspace I sudo apt-get install kdebase-kde4 I sudo apt-get install kdebase-runtime;
  • Kde4 comes installed separately regarding Kde3, for which nothing fear, in order to approach enough to select Kde4 from the login manager;
  • If it is wanted to be avoided of having to riavviare every time enough to install xserver-xephyr and launch the Xephyr commando: 1 & export DISPLAY=: 1; xterm therefore to start Kde4 on Xerphyr xterm.
