Dragbox

The line of commando and the desktop are both sophisticated interfaces, but they are above all two separate truths. It can be made “drag and drop” from the desktop in it finishes them virtual or using the function “copy and glue”, but, of default, to move rows or cartelle between they is impossible. Here that it takes part Dragbox which is planned in order to resolve this problem and to connect the two intefacce (unavoidable requirement is Gnome) through a combination of clipboard (pins) multiple and of simple rows manager.

The application is written in python and its installation does not introduce some difficulty resolving itself positively in a simple one download of the archives, in the extraction of the rows and in the ./configure classic - make - make install from they finishes.dragon.png

Wallpapoz

Wallpapoz is an application for Gnome that allows to shape background for the desktop in only way. One of the characteristics more “intriguers”, to my warning, is that of having a background that it changes passing of an interval of specific time. Quite the modification of the wallpaper can be set up when job is changed.

Installation:

  • download;
  • to scompattare the archives
  • to enter in the created folder and: python setup.py install.

Easy like drink a water glass.

Driver ati, hardy heron and mine notebook.

Some time makes wrote a post on my dumb Airone, ovverosia on a somewhat singular problem that reply on Hardy Heron after the installation of the driver ati: the audio does not work more. Obviously I do not have idea of because, otherwise I would have already characterized the solution, I can only say that it must be some module of driver of the card video (ati mobility radeon 9600) that it enters in conflict with my sonorous system based on Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller.

Well today I have decided to try again to us, not more with the last versions of driver (8,3 - 8,4), but with Catalyst already 7,11 working on Gutsy. Result? They work!
The installation is the usual, will not be to repeat it since there are tens of guides in net, the only thing to emphasize is the necessity to insert in xorg.conf the line of driver (the Driver “radeon”) before launch aticonfig - initial - f. This because otherwise aticonfig it will try the line in issue and, not finding it, will signal an error (as you will only know with the 8,4 has been resolved this problem).
After riavvio of the graphical serveur the test of ritual: fgl_glxgears - glxgears - glxinfo.
All ok!
To say the true one nearly all ok, because compiz it does not work. I hope to succeed to resolve the problem to more soon, but for me he is not thus determining, I make some calmly less.
I augur myself of being of aid to someone, even if hope are little to live similar situations, because to have a problem with the audio which had to the installation of driver video it is at least paradoxical and of much difficult solution since my type of sonorous card introduces for a long time impicci of this type immemorabìle.
At last an appeal: if to someone of you a various solution comes in mind, with the use of new the 8,4 the face to even know to me. Thanks!
