First steps with Fedora 9
I have installed Fedora 9 on my portable one and of it I have received a beautifulst impression; truly it compliments the development team. However I do not want to make a recenzione of the distro, also because us of they are already many in net, I want to only signal a problem that I have had with sendmail and sm-client. My portable one is in net with the desktop on which there is Ubuntu 8,04 and to the boot it was stopped for approximately 3 minuteren to the control of sendmail and sm-client, thus they have gone to control the /var/log/maillog rows and I have seen the following error:
May 15 11:28: 35 maddomlinux sendmail [2149]: My unqualified host name (maddomlinux) unknown; sleeping for retry
May 15 11:29: 35 maddomlinux sendmail [2149]: unable to qualify my own Domain Name (maddomlinux) - using short name
Solution: it has been enough to editare the /etc/hosts rows and to insert the line:
208.69.34.132 maddomlinux.local maddomlinux
The outline is this:
[ipaddress] [hostname.local] [hostname]

Sincerely I find it disappointing and full of youth bug.
beautiful kde 4 if it only worked and did not get lost the formulations every now and then.
all recognizing to the first blow but I do not look at it stable to begin from the wifi in which I see the smaller loss of packages and other problems.
some packages that I had dulled in installation I have since it has been scordato to put them and lack has marked errors….
we are up the update ones and we see, but for me the fc5 that I have today on the portable one it remains the best one than han made; p
