Here the guide promised in post the precedence. Naturally I have installed hardy on Virtualbox, what that council also to you, and on this “virtual copy” I have made my experiments.
The team of Ubuntu Netbook Remix has been thus kind to offer to the sviluppatori a Personal Package Archive (PPA) and, for means of this, our Remix can easy be installed on Hardy:

1. To add the PPA to our source list (gedit /etc/apt/sources.list)
   

   deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/netbook-remix-team/ubuntu hardy main
   deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/netbook-remix-team/ubuntu hardy main

2. update and then install
   

   I sudo apt-get update
   I sudo apt-get install go-home-applet human-netbook-theme maximus ume-launcher window-picker-applet

3. At last to riavviare the system or simply gdm (I sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart).

Here my result:

P.S. The panel of gnome is black because with “Remix” it comes installed also a called topic “human netbook theme” and enough to go in Sistema->Preferenze->Aspetto in order to select it.

Canonical has announced Ubuntu Netbook Remix, a version of Ubuntu planned for little ones computers equipped with the new processore Intel Atom. We are speaking about “netbooks” (little ones computers portable, like the PC Asus EEE), and palm.
This “remix” introduces some cosette truly interesting. It is based on equipped Ubuntu 8,04 and with a new one application launcher that it supplies the access to the applications and the rows from a shielded small. In the advanced part of the screen the only “Gnome panel” that it uses “switcher window” modified in order to save space, usable is present also for the control of the windows (massimizzazione…).
The date of the release has not been still made official, even if from some “rumors” it is learned that probably it will be already available to fine summer.
We will have to attend so much?
But not even for idea! Even if some installation does not exist iso or image for Virtualbox, is possible to install remix on Ubuntu 8.04. However, siccome this procedure modification considerably the setup of hardy is advisable not to make it on own desktop, but to install ubuntu on virtualbox and then to add to us remix.
