Ubuntu Eee 8.04.1, the piccolino becomes large!
It seems or passed nearly under Hush the release of Ubuntu Eee 8.04.1, the distro optimized for EeePc; least they have been taken care some and often in little deepened way, a “postman” (orribile result of post ino) and via like graves a notiziola any throwing down and passing beyond. Instead to me the first truly successful attempt of transformation of the EeePc in an absolutely complete computer, equipped of all the incredible collection of software seems of which it arranges Ubuntu and, above all, immediately working without having to rerun to script or which goodness knows other “alchemies” for being able to use the webcam rather than the wi-fi… Like already documented in post a precedence, before distro on mine “piccolino” targato 900 it has been eeebuntu, always better than Xandros but still subject to some bug and the use of script in order to complete of the configuration, thus here the decision to try Ubuntu Eee 8.04.1.
Not me dilungherò on the procedure of enough simple installation moreover and wide documented on the wiki of reference, but I will supply of continuation a series of screenshots in order documenting, at least partially, the beauty and the versatilità of this distro:
As you can see from last the three screenshots, the webcam it is perfectly working, in fact the photo with the bookcase has been released with Cheese, while the switch can easy be carried out of the graphical interface Netbook classic Remix in a that of Gnome using application available and installabile adding here to /etc/apt/sources.list the following lines:

The only disadvantage, if we can define thus it them, up to now from found me is a presumed bug that it prevents the modernization of the password with the classic I sudo passwd root, thus in order to become root must type sudo on. I have put on eeepc 901 ubuntu 8,10 beta, recognizes me all the hardware in automatic rifle except the card wireless. in order to make to work the wireless I have had to unload the driver for linux from the site of the producer, of easy installation and open source. creed that already gives 9.04 not will be more need than distru to-hoc but ubuntu base will be sufficente
