Background
The history of Linux begins from Unix, arranges created near the Bells Labs in 1969 and christened thus in reason of a play on words that it has to the base “Multics”, an other O.S of that age. At the end of the years 70 some experts of the University of California began to bring of the modifications to the code source of Unix that they comprised, among other things, the development of nets BSD (Berkley System Distribution) whose code came rendered public. However after the cession to AT&T, Unix divenne a product owner, buyable, usable, but not modifiable. In the 1984 Richard Stallman, refusing to submit to this logic, determined of giving life to a plan in order to realize and to assemble from zero a new O.S of Unix type whose code source was free. Thus GNU was born. Other fundamental stage is the attainment of the source concept open source (open) introduced from some programmatori in 1998 in order to indicate the free exactly software. At last at the beginning of years `90, Linus Torvalds, Finnish student, began to bring variations to Minix, other O.S of Unix type for PC, deciding to take part on the main member of the software to the base of Minix, the kernel, and to write of exactly own. At the end of the 1991 Torvalds it published the first version of Linux, called thus still for a play on words between Minix and its name. The rest is history of our time.
